Ralph Mims has been named the new girl’s head basketball coach at L.E.A.D Academy in beginning Fall 2025.
Mims, a native of Pensacola, attended high school in Maine. He was a standout basketball player, averaging 29.8 points per game and was named “Mr. Maine Basketball” in 2004. Mims played at Florida State University where he broke the consecutive free throw record and played every game for all four years. He went on to play professional basketball in Turkey, France, and the U.S.A.
“We are fortunate to have a man of Mims’ expertise and background coaching our basketball team,” said H. Frank Lay, Head of School at L.E.A.D Academy.
Mims resides in Pace, with his wife Racheal and four children. He owns and operates the Ralph Mims Basketball Lab for Training.
Lay explained, “Mims has all the qualities our school’s name represents: servant leadership, Godly enthusiasm, Christ-like attitude, and is a fully devoted and disciplined follower of Christ.”
